The Ozarks Chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers November 2019 Lunch Program. Come join your fellow local engineers for lunch and learn about engineering topics from around the Ozarks.
This is our annual BYOE (Bring Your Own Engineer) event. If you bring a potential new member or engineering student as a guest to the meeting, you and your guest attend free of charge.
Speaker: Dr. Joel Burken, Ph. D., P.E., Missouri S&T Curators' Distinguished Professor and Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering Department Chair
Program: What's Phytoforensics? Dr. Burken will highlight his research in "Phytoforensics," a method he has developed to detect the presence of soil and groundwater contamination without using a shovel or touching the water. Instead, he uses trees! Dr. Burken will also include a five-minute update on S&T engineering, which, of course, includes MSU students and programs too!
When: Thursday, November 7, 2019, from Noon-1:00 pm
Where: 425 W. Walnut Street, Springfield, Missouri
Lunch: $12.00 at the door (Free with a potential new member guest or student)
