MATHCOUNTS
Since 1984, the MATHCOUNTS Foundation has been a non-profit organization that provides engaging math programs to middle-school students of all ability levels in order to build confidence and improve attitudes toward math and problem solving. The middle-school years are a critical juncture for mathematics, as students either overcome their fear of difficult math and work to stay engaged… or tune out and focus on other subjects.
MATHCOUNTS provides enriching extracurricular opportunities to students and free, high-quality resources to educators.
- The MATHCOUNTS Competition Series brings students together for a series of in-person contests, culminating in a national event.
- The National Math Club creates a space where learning math is fun, social and supportive, which helps build confidence in students of all ability levels.
- The Math Video Challenge engages students in project-based learning that is innovative and creative. Student teams make their own math teaching videos, which enables them to connect and apply math to their own lives.
