About MSPE

The MISSOURI SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS (MSPE) is an individual member association that protects the public health, safety and welfare by promoting and defending the engineering profession.

MSPE is the only state professional engineering society and represents all practice area disciplines. MSPE promotes the protection of the public health, safety and welfare through the ethical and competent practice of engineering. MSPE advocates licensure and enhances the image and well being of its members.

The MSPE office is located at 308 E. High Street, Suite 100 in Jefferson City, Missouri.

HISTORY & MISSION OF MSPE

The Missouri Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE) was created on Jan. 9, 1937, to pass an engineering licensure law and be a networking forum for all Missouri engineers. Licensure law remains MSPE’s primary focus to this day, and we are still the only active organization in the state that represents all engineering disciplines and practice areas. No other individual member engineering organization maintains a lobbying presence in the Missouri State Capitol.

MSPE advocates, promotes and defends professional engineering licensure to protect public health, safety and welfare. We aim to be the organization of choice for licensed professional engineers in Missouri by protecting the licensure process and championing the ethical and competent practice of engineering.

We also aspire to provide continuing education, career development, mentoring and networking opportunities to licensed professional engineers, those on the licensure track and those aspiring to be engineers. As MSPE works to service future generations of engineers, we intend to maintain and increase membership in our organization through recruitment, retention, reclamation and youth focus.
