Due to the fluidity of the current situation regarding the COVID-19 virus, it has been decided to indefinitely postpone the MSPE Model Bridge Contest. While the contest will not be held on Wednesday, March 25 as originally planned, we are planning for the contest to be held after that date. Details regarding this will announced as they develop and will be posted on our website. We currently anticipate the contest being no sooner than the week of April 6th when several area schools are currently scheduled to reconvene classes. Future developments, however, could push the contest to later in the Spring. Unfortunately, the date of the contest may preclude the top two finishers from competing in the International Contest scheduled to be held on May 9th. (The "in-person" portion of the International Contest has been cancelled.)
Depending on the circumstances, our contest may or may not be an "in-person" contest. If it is not an in-person contest, we will investigate methods to record the contest, either for live streaming or viewing later. At any rate, the bridge entries will be tested, the results posted online on our webpage, and prizes awarded.
As the situation progresses, updates will be available on the MSPE Model Bridge Contest website at https://mspe.org/model-bridge-contest. Additionally, as several schools have cancelled classes at this time, and the fact that I do not have contact information for each individual, please help me disseminate this information to other teachers which are not on this list and to your students as applicable.
Again, the MSPE Model Bridge Contest will NOT be held on Wednesday, March 25th. The contest will be held in some form later this spring with the details to come as they are developed. The results will posted on our website and prizes will be awarded. Please check our webpage for updates.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and understanding as we navigate this difficulty.
