Keynote Speaker:
Astronaut Jack Fischer - Jack D. Fischer (Colonel, U.S. Air Force) was selected by NASA in July 2009. The Colorado native served as a Flight Engineer aboard the International Space Station of the Expedition 51/52. During his 2017 mission, he logged 136 days in space with two spacewalks. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Astronautical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy, and a Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Colonel Fischer is an Air Force Command pilot with over 3,000 flight hours in more than 45 types of aircraft.
Presentation:
Imagining Tomorrow: COVID-19 has laid bare the critical work of engineers in creating a world safe from pandemics, climate change, cyber-attacks, and other daunting global challenges. Engineers Week is a time to celebrate their important work and engage the next generation of innovators. Even with social distancing, you can make a difference.
Students:
Going virtual allows us to spread the reach of our celebration much further. Links to the virtual E-Week celebration will be provided to schools throughout the metro if classes are able to join in live. Recordings will also be made available after the luncheon for viewing as best fits a teacher or students schedule.
