Presentation:
Scott Mensing is the program manager for the Kansas Citys Levees. He leads a staff of project managers and a multi-disciplined team to deliver the $500M+ program to non-federal partners and local stakeholders.
Scott started with USACE in July 2009 as a Civil Engineer. He spent three years as a civil engineer and served as a technical lead for military construction and civil works projects before becoming a civil works project manager. He served as a project manager on several large, local flood risk reduction projects including Turkey Creek and the St. Joseph levee improvements. He also served as the district’s Dam Safety Program Manager (DSPM) and Section 408 Program Manager.
Scott graduated from Iowa State University in 2004 with a degree in civil engineering. Prior to joining USACE, he served as a project manager, team lead, and civil engineer for a private land development firm in Kansas City. He managed the design and construction of multiple $100M+ commercial development projects. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Missouri and has graduated the District’s and Division’s Leadership Development Programs.
