    Dave Weber obtained a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science (Cum Laude) in Civil Engineering from University of Missouri-Columbia. Since 1997, Dave has been a Project Engineer for Allstate Consultants. In 2000, he became Principal/Secretary-Treasurer and Chief of Structural Services for the firm. He is responsible for various types of design work, including forensic and structural engineering. He is involved in construction administration, inspection, specification preparation of structural projects and has completed a considerable amount of expert testimony in the area of building science, structure failure, and forensic engineering.

    Dave is a licensed Professional Engineer in Missouri and numerous other states as well as a licensed Structural Engineer in the state of Illinois including a current Model Law Structural Engineer record with NCEES. He is also a Structural Specialist for the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) response system and a rostered member of the Missouri Task Force One, serving as a structures specialist (since 1998), with over 25 deployments including the World Trade Center Disaster in 2001, the Clinton, Missouri Building Collapse in 2006, and the Joplin, Missouri E-5 Tornado in 2011. He is also a rostered member of the FEMA US&R White Incident Support Team (IST) which responded to the Hurricane Katrina disaster in 2005, Hurricane Sandy in 2012, and the Colorado flooding in 2013. Dave has been a Missouri SEMA Structural Assessment and Visual Evaluation (SAVE) Coalition volunteer and a board member since 2003 as a representative of the Structural Engineers Association of Kansas and Missouri (SEAKM). He was the board chairman of SAVE from 2006 to 2014.

    MATHCOUNTS is a nationwide program designed to improve math skills among U.S. students. Sponsors help encourage middle school students, who are at a crucial stage in developing and sustaining math interest and ability. This year will be MATHCOUNTS’s 43rd anniversary.

    MSPE's 2026 Capitol Day will be held as part of the Engineer's Day at the Capitol with ACEC Missouri, APWA and ASCE on February 4, 2026. This provides an opportunity to bring an even larger group of engineers to the capitol and represent our profession.

    MATHCOUNTS competition is a nationwide extracurricular math program for grades 6-8. This competition is a great way for young, brilliant minds to push themselves in mathematics and compete in a fun and challenging environment. MSPE Western Chapter is the host of the MATHCOUNTS Western Missouri competition. Your help is essential to make the event run smoothly and showcase the incredible strengths of the engineering profession.

    Volunteers will help with check-in, test proctoring, and grading. Volunteer for part or all of the day! Anyone can volunteer including MSPE members, family members, responsible children, friends, etc.

    The Ozark Chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers is proud to sponsor the 37th Annual Model Bridge Contest for area students, to be held on Wednesday, March 11th, 2026 in conjunction with the Ozark Science and Engineering Fair. This year the contest will again be held at the Christopher S. Bond Learning Center at the MSU Darr Agricultural Center, located at 2401 S. Kansas Expressway, in Springfield, Missouri.

    The top three finishers in the Middle School (grades 4 – 8) and High School (grades 9 – 12) Divisions will receive framed certificates as well as a cash prize to commemorate their accomplishment! Additionally, the top two finishers in the High School Division will be eligible to compete in the upcoming International Bridge Contest, to be held Saturday, April 25th in Chicago, Illinois.

    The Missouri Society of Professional Engineers and Kansas Society of Professional Engineers are teaming up to launch the Government Engineers Leadership Program (GELP) in 2026. This program, exclusively offered to MSPE/KSPE members working in the government sector, is for individuals committed to developing their leadership abilities.

    This program imparts specific skills and competencies utilizing highly interactive sessions taught by experts in the field of engineering, business administration, government affairs and people management in government and professional services firms. Program attendees will participate in structured professional development sessions, build their network through meaningful connections, and gain hands-on experience with guidance from industry mentors.

    Everyone is invited to the annual Shrimp Feed sponsored by the Ozark Chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers. The event will happen on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

    This event welcomes Engineers, Surveyors, Architects, Contractors, Construction Suppliers, Students, and the public. The Shrimp Feed is the primary fundraiser for the Chapter, and the proceeds go toward funding Engineer’s Week activities, Bridge Contest, MathCounts, Ozarks Science and Engineering Fair (OSEF), and scholarships for local engineering students.

    PURCHASE IS NOT DEDUCTIBLE AS A CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION.
