GOVERNMENT ENGINEERS LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

2027 Program Information
The Missouri Society of Professional Engineers and Kansas Society of Professional Engineers are pleased to continue the Government Engineers Leadership Program (GELP) in 2027. This exclusive program is offered to MSPE and KSPE members working in the government sector who are committed to strengthening their leadership skills and advancing their careers in public service.
GELP develops the leadership competencies needed to succeed in today's public sector through highly interactive sessions led by experts in engineering, business administration, government affairs, public policy, and organizational leadership. Participants engage in structured professional development, expand their professional network through meaningful peer relationships, and gain practical insights from experienced leaders across government and the engineering profession.
All three sessions will take place in the Kansas City metro.
2027 Class
Class size is limited to 20 participants to encourage meaningful discussion and collaboration. City, county, state, federal, and other public agencies may register one or more employees each year. Registration is accepted on a first come, first served basis, with a waiting list maintained once the class reaches capacity.
Participants are expected to attend all program sessions. If more than half of a session is missed, that session must be completed during the following year's program to be eligible for graduation. The program is limited to registered participants only and is not transferable. Professional Development Hour (PDH) certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of the program.

Registration & Application Process Participation in the Government Engineers Leadership Program is not automatic. All interested individuals must complete an application, which will be reviewed and considered with class size limitations. Final acceptance into the program is determined after the review process, and applicants will be contacted directly with the committee’s decisions. How to Apply Download the Application – Complete all required fields on the form. Upload the Application – Use the registration link provided to securely submit your completed application. Applications must be uploaded upon initial registration online. Because a number of interested applicants are waiting for their internal leadership approval, applications will continue to be accepted. Once your application has been reviewed and you are officially selected, KSPE/MSPE will issue an invoice for program tuition. Payment is required by the deadline to confirm your spot in the program. |
