Future City Competition Judges Needed

For the first time ever, Missouri will be hosting a STEM event called Future Cities.

The Future City competition (STEM related activity for teams from various Middle Schools - 6, 7, 8 graders) for Missouri will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at MS&T in the Butler Carlton Building.  This is the first year that the Missouri competition will be held in a Missouri location.  Previously, Missouri was a part of the Great Plains Region which consists of Missouri and Kansas.  Historically, the competition has rotated between the K-State Campus and the KU Campus.  Missouri has been recently approved as a sub-region.

With the change in location for Missouri participants, arrangements are being made to set up the competition similar to what has been done at the Kansas locations.  One of the most important components of the competition is the judging of the various Scale Models and Student Presentations of their Future City.  This year's theme is designing an "Age Friendly City".  Please refer to site for a full explanation of the competition and all of its components including the judging rubric.

MSPE supports this engineering educational activity and solicits your participation as a judge in the January competition.  It is a one day activity of judging.  Please spread the word of the need for judges in the engineering community.  The participation by you in this competition, will signify once again how the professional engineering community is dedicated to providing an opportunity for students to pursue careers in engineering.

The contact in Rolla is Martina,  She needs to know of your intent as soon as possible so that this portion of the competition can be finalized.
