Engineers who built the Great Pyramid
and its First Scientific Measurements
It is essential for engineers to appreciate, and learn from, our history. The design and construction of the Egyptian pyramids was initiated by Imhotep, the earliest engineer for whom we have a personal name. This presentation will detail the evolution of pyramids and the overwhelming effort to build the Great Pyramid, one of the most iconic and recognized structures in the world
It will also describe later scientific measurements, including tools and methods, and specifically that in 1638-39 by John Greaves, an Oxford Geometry Professor.
