Based in Missouri’s capital city, MSPE is the only organization in Missouri working to enhance and protect engineers in all disciplines and practice areas.

    Event Details:

    Mr. Britt Smith, P.E., F.NSPE is the 2022-2023 President of NSPE and will be visiting Kansas City on Thursday, September 29th.

    A member of NSPE and the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers since 1997, Smith has held many volunteer leadership positions with NSPE including serving on the Committee on Policy and Advocacy, Honors and Awards Committee, the Delivery System, Communication, and Technology Task Force, and as Missouri’s representative to the NSPE House of Delegates. Smith was named an NSPE Fellow in 2016. In Missouri, he served in a variety of chapter and state-level leadership positions, including as the 2011-2012 state president and the Jefferson City Chapter President in 2001.

    Smith is currently the operations division director for the City of Jefferson, where he manages all aspects of operations related to streets, parking, central maintenance, city facilities, and airport, and leverages all available resources to accomplish the varying missions of each division. He also has experience as an engineering consultant and served in the U.S. Army. Smith graduated from the Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly the University of Missouri – Rolla) with a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering.

    Smith’s dedication to volunteering also extends into his local community where he is involved with the United Way of Central Missouri and as a counselor for the Jefferson City Marriage Encounter, and has previously dedicated many years to the local Boy Scouts troop, and as a volunteer baseball/softball coach.

    This tour of Convoy of Hope will take the place of our usual monthly lunch meeting for MSPE for October.

    We will meet at the construction job site at 4:30 pm.

    Wear closed toed shoes. Bring a hard hat and safety vest and bring extras if you have them for those that won't have any.
